Hollywood, MD—Local music sensation Sam Grow is practically a household name here in our beloved peninsula. Grow was born and raised in Southern Maryland, a La Plata High School alum. This country artist was born into music, his father a singer and his sister a talented pianist and vocalist. Following in their footsteps, he taught himself several instruments, including guitar, bass and piano. Grow’s infatuation with music sky-rocketed once he began performing in his church, having an open and accepting venue to display his abilities. Little did he know that one day he would work with musicians such as Jeff Scott Soto and Yngwie Malmsteen and perform with artists like Kanye West and Kat Parsons.

Grow released his self-titled debut EP in 2014, and it managed to land a No. 8 spot on the iTunes Country Albums chart. If that wasn’t impressive enough, Grow only topped himself with his second EP, The Blame (2017), debuting at No. 5 on iTunes. The Blame went on to also secure No. 8 on Billboard’s Current Country chart. Grow has undoubtedly caused a buzz in the country music industry, and continues to make our community proud with his endless musical endeavors. Grow’s third EP, A Little Like Me is available now for pre-order on iTunes.

Grow moved to Nashville in 2013 to pursue music full-time, and tours across the country regularly. This Friday, Jan. 19, Grow is playing a show in honor of his birthday at Union Jack’s in Annapolis. More information on the event can be found here.

While ever-expanding, Southern Maryland is known by all of its residents as a small town. However, Sam Grow is proof that even with humble beginnings, one can still follow their dreams and succeed in their passions.
