Calvert County
Calvert County Public Schools Closed Friday, March 6 (Code Red for 12-Month Employees). Schools closed due to inclement weather for students and all employees except those designated as emergency personnel (Code Red). Reminder to staff and parents when schools are closed all evening activities are cancelled.
After reevaluating the road conditions this morning, Calvert County Government will open at 12 p.m.(noon) today, March 6, 2015, with a liberal leave policy in effect. Calvert County Circuit Court and Calvert County District Court will be closed today.
Employees must contact their supervisor to request liberal leave.
There will be no trash pickup in the Town of North Beach Friday, March 6 due to the snow.
St. Mary’s County
St. Mary’s County Public Schools are closed on Friday, March 6,2015.
Employee Closed: St. Mary’s County Public Schools are closed on Thursday, March 5,2015, with a Code 3 for employees. Administrative leave will be provided for twelve month employees.
NAS Patuxent River will delay opening until noon Friday, March 6. Admin leave will be granted for the hours before the set delayed opening. Critical employees must report to work as previously scheduled. All other employees may take unscheduled leave, telework, or leave without pay for the entire day. Employees choosing not to use unscheduled annual leave, telework, or LWOP should report to work at noon. Notify your supervisor of your intentions as soon as possible.
All St. Mary’s County Recreation and Parks activities which take place in the public schools will be canceled for Friday, March 6.
The cancellation is due to St. Mary’s County Public Schools’ decision to close all schools on Friday due to today’s winter storm.
The St. Andrews Landfill and six (6) Convenience Centers will remain closed for March 6.
All three Senior Activity Centers (Garvey, Loffler and Northern) will open at 1 p.m. March 6 and not noon as previously stated.
Because of yesterday’s winter storm, the following delays and schedule changes will be in effect:
All St. Mary’s County Administrative Offices will open at noon. Liberal leave will be granted to employees (subject to change.)
The St. Mary’s County Department of Recreation and Parks has these updates with regard to their operations for today:
All Recreation & Parks programs and facilities will open by 5 p.m. including the Leonard Hall, Margaret Brent, Carver and Hollywood Recreation Centers, Chancellor’s Run, and Great Mills Swimming Pool.
The Gymnastics Center will open at 4:30 p.m.
The Riverview Restaurant at Wicomico Shores Golf Course will open at 2:00 p.m.
All museums will remain closed for the day.
Non-Public School transportation will not operate.
STS Transit will begin operations at noon (subject to change.)
All St. Mary’s County Library locations (Charlotte Hall, Leonardtown and Lexington Park) will open at 1 p.m. (subject to change.)
St. Mary’s County Circuit Courthouse will open at 1 p.m. Court sessions will begin at 1:30 p.m. (subject to change)
The St. Mary’s County District Court will remain closed for March 6.
All campuses of the College of Southern Maryland will remain closed March 6 due to weather conditions.
The St. Mary’s County Treasurer’s Office will open at 10 a.m. today. The annual Tax Sale will be held at 1 p.m. as scheduled. The sale will take place in the commissioners meeting room, inside the Chesapeake Building, 41770 Baldridge Street in Leonardtown.
Fenwick Street Used Books & Music has postponed the book signing of “The Chesapeake Cats and the Easter Surprise” until next Friday, March 13 from 5-7 PM.
Charles County
Due to inclement weather, all Charles County public schools will be closed Friday, March 6, 2015. There is a code red for staff who follow the code system. The annual Charles County Science Fair has been postponed to Saturday, March 28 at Maurice J. McDonough High School.
