INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Junior Luke Schwenk (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) and first-year Kelsie Miller (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) were two of the 526 Division III swimmers selected to participate in the 2024 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships on March 20-23 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Schwenk will represent St. Mary’s College of Maryland at the championships for the second straight season after qualifying in three events – 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 backstroke – while Miller will be making her debut with her qualification in the 100 butterfly.

Last season, Schwenk became the first-ever Seahawk male swimmer to qualify for the NCAA Championships and became the men’s swimming program’s most highly decorated swimmer with two All-America awards. The 6-2 captain finished 14th in the 50 freestyle and 15th in the 100 freestyle in 2023.

He owns the fourth-fastest time in the 50 freestyle with his NCAA B cut of 19.86 while coming in 11th in the 100 freestyle his B standard of 44.26. Schwenk, who repeated as the Atlantic East Conference Swimmer of the Year, is also tied for 17th in the 100 backstroke with his B cut of 48.61.

Miller is the ninth St. Mary’s College women’s swimmer to earn a spot at NCAA’s and the first since Kelly Heyde ’13 in 2012.

She has the eighth-fastest time in the 100 butterfly with her B standard of 54.95. By virtue of her qualification to the championships, Miller can compete in two additional events of her choice – the 100 freestyle and the 200 individual medley.

The 50 freestyle and the 200 individual medley will take place on Wednesday, March 20, while the 100 butterfly will be raced on Thursday, March 21. The 100 backstroke will be contested on Friday, March 22, while the 100 freestyle will occur on the final day of the championships.

NCAA.com will video stream all sessions from Wednesday through Saturday of the championships.
