Scott Stiles is Annouced as the Winner of the National Men’s Oyster Shucking Contest

Scott Stiles of Texas won the National Oyster Shucking Contest in the men’s group. He is pictured in the video hugging Deborah Pratt, this year’s female champion, who he was to face in the final competition.

Stiles, defending champion, was one of six male contestants. George Hastings, the local contestant from Maryland, who won the championship in 1999 and 2001, came in forth with a time of three minutes and nine seconds. Stiles shucked his twenty four oysters in only two minutes and thirty-nine seconds during the men’s comptition.
