MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — One person died Tuesday morning after a single-vehicle crash in Mechanicsville.
Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 7:43 a.m. on June 30, 2026, to the 27500 block of Thompson Corner Road for a motor vehicle crash with injuries.
Initial reports indicated a single vehicle was heavily damaged and that someone was inside the vehicle. Fire and EMS units from St. Mary’s County responded to the scene, and additional rescue and medical units were requested.
Despite the emergency response, the crash was later confirmed to be fatal.
The identity of the person who died has not been released.
Additional details, including what led to the crash, were not immediately available. Police are investigating.
