LEONARDTOWN, Md. – The St. Mary’s County Museum Division, part of St. Mary’s County Government’s Department of Recreation & Parks, is pleased to announce that the old water taxi boat, used to ferry visitors to St. Clement’s Island State Park for years, is up for auction after the acquisition of a new, larger, ADA-compliant vessel to replace the current one.
The vessel up for auction is a 1995 Old Port 25’10″ Fiberglass Boat, Model KM4A2, Hull ID # 0MX26069E595, engine model 4JH80, engine family NYDXN02.0E4C. This boat was taken out of service on December 2, 2025, is winterized in a covered slip and can be viewed by appointment. No trailer is included and the buyer is responsible for removing the boat from the marina and any haul out and slip fees after the purchase. It is certified for 22 people and routes must be approved by the U.S. Coast Guard. Maintenance records can be viewed upon request. The engine and transmission hours are unknown but were replaced on October 31, 2023.
