The Calvert County Department of Public Works announces sand and sandbags will be available to residents beginning Friday, Aug. 28, to help protect property from water damage as heavy rains are forecasted through the weekend.
Up to 20 sandbags per person may be filled and picked up at the Stafford Road Salt Dome located at 335 Stafford Road in Barstow. Citizens should bring a shovel to fill bags. Residents can stop by to fill bags from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. County staff will not be available to assist at this time.
Residents must follow health precautions for preventing the spread of COVID-19, to include maintaining a physical distance of at least six feet from others and wearing a face covering if unable to maintain adequate distancing.
