WALDORF, Md. — A two-vehicle collision on Crain Highway near Sam’s Club in Waldorf, left a 27-year-old woman injured and trapped in her car on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:06 p.m. on August 26, 2024. An off-duty officer who first arrived at the scene reported that airbags had deployed in one of the vehicles, where an unconscious but breathing woman was found.

Emergency crews responded quickly, performing a “door pop” to extricate the injured woman from her vehicle. She was then evaluated on site by EMS personnel before being transported to the UM Charles Regional Medical Center for further treatment. The extent of her injuries remains unclear.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
