The Charles County Department of Emergency Services is holding a coloring contest for the 2013 emergency preparedness calendar.ย  The contest is open to Charles County seventh grade students.ย 

Students are to submit a colored drawing on the theme of “What does emergency preparedness mean to me?”ย  A committee will select 12 drawings for publication in the calendar.

The winners will receive a home disaster preparedness kit that will be presented to them by the Charles County Commissioners.

Contest Rules:

  • Only Charles County seventh grade students are eligible to participate.

  • Entries must be submitted on 8 ยฝ x 11 white paper.

  • Only one entry per student.

  • Drawings need to reflect “What does emergency preparedness mean to me?”

  • Entry forms are available at www.CharlesCountyMD.gov/es/em/emergency-management, local newspaper, or at the Emergency Management Office (10425 Audie Lane, La Plata).ย  An incomplete entry form will disqualify the entry.

  • All entries will become the property of the Charles County Department of Emergency Services to modify, crop and/or enhance for final publication.

  • Entries must be submitted no later than Sunday, September 30, 2012 to Jennifer Adams, Charles County Emergency Services, P.O. Box 2150, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
