The Charles County Department of Emergency Services is holding a coloring contest for the 2013 emergency preparedness calendar. The contest is open to Charles County seventh grade students.
Students are to submit a colored drawing on the theme of “What does emergency preparedness mean to me?” A committee will select 12 drawings for publication in the calendar.
The winners will receive a home disaster preparedness kit that will be presented to them by the Charles County Commissioners.
Contest Rules:
- Only Charles County seventh grade students are eligible to participate.
- Entries must be submitted on 8 ½ x 11 white paper.
- Only one entry per student.
- Drawings need to reflect “What does emergency preparedness mean to me?”
- Entry forms are available at www.CharlesCountyMD.gov/es/em/emergency-management, local newspaper, or at the Emergency Management Office (10425 Audie Lane, La Plata). An incomplete entry form will disqualify the entry.
- All entries will become the property of the Charles County Department of Emergency Services to modify, crop and/or enhance for final publication.
- Entries must be submitted no later than Sunday, September 30, 2012 to Jennifer Adams, Charles County Emergency Services, P.O. Box 2150, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
