SOLOMONS, Md. – The Calvert Marine Museum is excited to join the celebration of small businesses in Solomons for the 2nd Annual Pink Friday event on Friday, Nov. 22, from noon to 8 p.m. This nationwide event, launched in 2020, encourages shoppers to support local businesses on the Friday before Black Friday, offering an alternative to big-box stores during the busy holiday season.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this fantastic lineup of local businesses coming together to offer a day of shopping, refreshments, door prizes, and most importantly, fun!” said Bonnie Farmer, a representative from the Calvert Marine Museum.

Participants can begin their Pink Friday adventure by picking up a free tote and game card at the AllyCat Walk Boutique at Patuxent Plaza. As shoppers explore participating businesses throughout Solomons, they will have a chance to collect pink door prizes, get their game cards stamped, and follow each business on social media to show support.

Once all the shops are visited, participants are encouraged to head to Simply Social Event Company to take a fun photo with friends and turn in their completed game card for a chance to win the Grand Prize Basket, filled with goodies from each participating business.

“It’s the perfect way to treat yourself or surprise someone special with an amazing prize!” said Farmer.

The following businesses are participating in Pink Friday:

The Calvert Marine Museum
The AllyCat Walk Boutique
Maertens Fine Jewelry
Shy Beauty
Pure Harmony Esthetics
