HOLLYWOOD, Md. – Eric Colvin, Candidate for St. Mary’s County Commissioner for District 1, has been formally endorsed by the Sierra Club of Maryland. The Sierra Club is one of the oldest grassroots organizations in the nation and their mission is to enhance the quality of life by educating and enlisting people to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environments.
“I am proud and excited to receive the endorsement of the Sierra Club as I run for office. My fiscally conservative viewpoints complement my love for the outdoors and the environment. St. Mary’s County has an incredibly beautiful and rich natural environment and I look forward to working with the Sierra Club and any other interested citizens to ensure that we protect this wonderful heritage.”
The endorsement process involved questions that directly impact St. Mary’s County, including the use of solar energy, hybrid vehicles, walkable communities, access to recycling and other easily achievable steps that help protect the environment.
