
ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Women’s Tennis Team (2-3) hosted the Marymount University Saints in a midweek non-conference matchup. The Seahawks defeated the Saints, 7-2.
How It Happened:
Doubles
- Cleopatra Solomon and Amber Manspeaker were victorious in the first doubles match, winning by a final score of 8-1.
- Giselle Harris and Emily Shioutakon defeated the Saints in the number two doubles match, 8-2.
- Ellie Walter and Lauren Lovejoy fell in the number three doubles match by a final of 8-4.
Singles
- Cleopatra Solomon earned a victory in the number one singles match with scores of 6-2 and 7-5.
- Amber Manspeaker won a nail biter in the number two singles contest. Manspeaker dropped the first set in a tiebreaker, won the second set 7-5, and solidified the victory with a 6-2 third set win.
- Emily Shioutakon represented the Seahawks in the number three singles match. Shioutakon won the first set 7-5 and the second set 6-4.
- Giselle Harris earned a two set victory in the number four singles match. Harris won the first set 6-4 and the second 6-3.
- Ellie Walter earned a hard fought victory in the number five singles contest. Walter dropped the first set 6-1, won the second set 6-4, and clinched the match with a 10-7 win in the third set.
- Lauren Lovejoy was defeated in the number six singles match. Lovejoy won the first set 7-6, dropped the second 6-2, and lost the final set 10-5.
