WALDORF, Md. — Phoenix International Inc. is excited to present Comedy for a Cause, a special fundraising event featuring Jay Pharoah, the renowned comedian, actor, and former “Saturday Night Live” standout who was a cast member from 2010 to 2016 and is famous for his unforgettable portrayal of Barack Obama.
Set for Thursday, March 27, 2025, this one-of-a-kind comedy show will take place at Shark Bar and Seafood House in Waldorf, Md. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show runs from 7 to 9 p.m. The event is open to attendees 18 and older.
An Evening of Laughter for a Meaningful Cause
Comedy for a Cause will raise funds to benefit arts education, community development, and PISOTA (Phoenix International School of the Arts)—Charles County’s first public charter school with a focus on the arts. Proceeds will help expand arts programming, provide scholarships, and increase access to creative opportunities for scholars.

Attendees can expect an unforgettable night of comedy featuring:
- Jay Pharoah – Acclaimed comedian and master impressionist, known for his celebrity impressions and standout performances on “Saturday Night Live,” where he famously portrayed Barack Obama.
- Davy Ruffin – A rising comedy star from the DMV with an energetic and relatable style.
- Derrick Carter – Serving as emcee, Carter will keep the laughs rolling all night long.
