SOLOMONS, Md. — A Virginia man was arrested after deputies say he caused a disturbance and repeatedly refused to leave a bar in Solomons on April 19, 2026.

Jared Seth Sparkman, 25, of Hampton, Virginia, was charged with disorderly conduct and intoxicated public disturbance following the incident at the Tiki Bar located on Charles Street.

Deputies were working a special assignment in the area when they responded to an unrelated incident at the Tiki Bar. During that time, Sparkman was advised to leave the establishment and was escorted out by security.

Authorities reported that shortly after being removed, Sparkman attempted to re-enter the business by trying to jump over a fence. Deputies again ordered him to leave the area, but he continued walking back toward the bar.

When told once more to leave, Sparkman allegedly ignored commands and walked up the steps of a nearby business that was closed. Deputies then approached him and placed him under arrest.

Sparkman was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center without further incident.

He was released on his own recognizance following a bond review.

A hearing is set for June 8, 2026, in Calvert District Court.

Under Maryland law, disorderly conduct carries a maximum penalty of up to 60 days in jail, while intoxicated public disturbance carries up to 90 days incarceration.
