CALIFORNIA, Md. — Southern Waves, a new cannabis dispensary in California, Maryland, is scheduled to open to the public Tuesday, July 15, at 9 a.m.
The dispensary will be located at 22805 Three Notch Road and plans to offer cannabis flower, edibles, concentrates and wellness products.
Southern Waves received local approval in 2025, when the St. Mary’s County Board of Appeals approved a conditional use permit for the dispensary. County planning documents described the project as the conversion of an existing 3,000-square-foot commercial building into a cannabis dispensary.
The business said its staff will assist both new cannabis customers and experienced consumers, with a focus on creating a welcoming and judgment-free environment.
Southern Waves is also planning a grand opening celebration on July 25 to mark the new location’s arrival in the community.
After opening, customers will be able to browse the dispensary’s menu online, place pre-orders and follow updates on promotions through the business’s website and social media pages.
The Maryland Cannabis Administration maintains an online dispensary locator and advises customers to check dispensary hours before visiting.
Residents can visit the California location beginning July 15.
