The Department of Economic and Community Development needs your help in finding local speakers, who are willing to speak to middle school students at their Career Expo Day.
Ed Sierra, President/CEO of Sierra Management in California, has volunteered again this year to assist in recruiting professionals to speak at the Career Expo day.
This year is going to be even larger then last year to include all four St. Mary’s County Middle Schools. The same format as last year will be used and to include speakers (that is you) discussing what you do and how personally you got to where you are today. You will be asked to plan for three twenty minute sessions.ย The students will be allowed to attend up to three sessions.ย This event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Esperanza Middle School.ย
We are expecting local news coverage advertising the event along with participation from all professions.
Please consider this opportunity to assist in informing students of the different careers that may be available for them in the future. If you would be interested in participating as one of the speakers, please contact Ed Sierra at (301) 737-3000, ext. 101.
