ST. MARY’S COUNTY, Md. — In a heartwarming display of faith and kindness, St. Mary’s County resident Kaylynn Moore and her family dedicated the week of March 10 through March 15 to hiding 150 miniature Jesus figures throughout the county in hopes of spreading love, joy and the message of Jesus to all who find them.
Moore and her family are using this opportunity to bring the community together and foster a sense of unity and faith as residents search for the hidden figures. Moore encourages people, whether they are seeking spiritual renewal, a sense of community or simply a moment of peace, to join in the search.
Moore has been posting clues, riddles and hints on her Facebook page, “Pretty Poses Photography,” to assist residents on their quest.
The first clue read:
“Where he waves rise, yet Jesus doesn’t sink…
Where faith is tested, yet hearts don’t shrink.
He walked across it but did not fall.
He’s there waiting for you, standing tall.”
“Check well-known local water areas around St. Mary’s County.”

Shortly after Moore posted the first clue, a local family shared a photo of a miniature Jesus figure they had found near The Wharf in Leonardtown. Moore later revealed that 20 of the 150 figures are hidden in water areas around the county.
To help participants identify what the figures look like, Moore shared photos on her page showing how the miniatures are placed in various locations.
For further community engagement, Moore included a poll on her Facebook page, inviting residents to vote on which locations they’d like to search for the figures. The poll options included “Local Fast Food Places,” “Local Play Parks” and “Local Shopping Stores/Gas Stations.” The winning location was “Local Shopping Stores/Gas Stations.” Moore encourages people to be on the lookout for figures in these areas, along with the other spots across St. Mary’s.
As part of the search, Moore invites participants to either keep the miniature Jesus figure they find or leave it for someone else to discover. She also encourages people to take pictures of the figures and tag her page to continue spreading the joy of finding Jesus in unexpected places.
Whether you are a resident of St. Mary’s or just passing through, Moore hopes people will take a moment to reflect, smile and appreciate the love and faith hidden in their community. Each figure serves as a reminder that everyone is loved, and that sometimes, faith is found in the most unexpected places.
