One-third of the properties in St. Maryโs County (Districts 2, 3, 6 and 9) received assessment notices in December 2010. The State Department of Assessments and Taxation determines the taxable assessment of real property. Citizens are urged to verify assessment notices received for accuracy. Assessments can be appealed by following the directions contained with the notices.ย
