Lusby, MD – State investigators are trying to determine the cause of an early morning fire that damaged a shed in Calvert County. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the blaze occurred Monday morning, Dec. 1 around 1:40 a.m. at a location on Chestnut Drive in Lusby.

“The small shed and contents were completely destroyed by the fire,” stated Dfm. Caryn McMahon, who determined the blaze started inside the structure.

The woodshed was 10-feet-by-10-feet. Damage is estimated at $750. No injuries were reported.

McMahon reported a neighbor discovered the fire. Six firefighters from Solomons were dispatched to the scene and brought the flames under control in five minutes.
