LA PLATA, Md. — Stella’s Girls, a nonprofit committed to developing the next generation of social change agents, will host a free Youth Empowerment Workshop: Voices Matter on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Phoenix International School of the Arts (PISOTA), 95 Catalpa Drive, La Plata, MD 20646.
The one-day event is open to youth ages 12 to 17 and is designed to spark leadership, advocacy, and community action through hands-on activities. Participants will explore how language barriers impact health and safety, create civic engagement projects, and develop tools for real-world impact.
Youth will work alongside mentors, develop public service announcements and welcome kits, leave with actionable skills, and earn two Student Service Learning (SSL) hours recognized by Maryland schools.
Registration is free and open through May 16 at https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/332m8z3. Complimentary snacks and supplies are provided.
