Charles County Government is seeking college students, recent college graduates, and 2017 high school graduates, who wish to gain work experience and learn about local government, for the summer internship program. The internship program provides paid internships that will last 8 weeks or 12 weeks in a variety of department areas.ย 

โ€œI am pleased to announce that the Charles County Government Internship Program is kicking off this year’s recruitment efforts. These internships provide a great opportunity for Charles County students to learn about public service and gain valuable insight and employment experience. The internship program is also a great way to help shape the leaders of tomorrow and provide a hands-on learning experience,โ€ said County Administrator Michael D. Mallinoff, Esq., ICMA-CM.

Interns will gain unique and valuable workings of Charles County Government.ย  Work hours are flexible to meet the needs of students and county departments.ย  Internships will be available in the following departments and partnership agencies:

โ€ข College of Southern Maryland
โ€ข County Administratorโ€™s Office
โ€ข Department of Community Services
โ€ข Department of Emergency Services
โ€ข Department of Fiscal and Administrative Services
โ€ข Department of Recreation, Parks, and Tourism
โ€ข Department of Planning and Growth Management
โ€ข Department of Public Works
โ€ข Soil Conservation District
