The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs pounded out 13 hits and scored ten runs en route to a 10-5 victory over the York Revolution and moved them into a three-way tie for first place in the Freedom Division second half race.

Jake Brown (6-2) earned the victory allowing two unearned runs over five innings. Scott Gorgen was on the losing end as he was charged with three runs in five innings of work.

The early stages of the game belonged to the Blue Crabs. Steve Moss delivered the first run of the game in the bottom of the 1st with a two-out, RBI single. C.J. Ziegler doubled the lead in the 4th inning with a solo home run, his 12th of the season.

Travis Garcia tied the game in the top of the 5th inning for the Revs with a two-run single but the Blue Crabs restored the lead in the 5th courtesy of Luke Murton’s 10th home run of the season.

In the 6th inning, Southern Maryland increased their lead with three more runs. Amadeo Zazueta brought in a run with an RBI single and followed with a two-run double to make it 6-2.

Garcia continued his productive night capping off a three-run York 7th inning with a two-run home run to give him four RBIs on the game. Southern Maryland came right back with four runs on three consecutive singles in the bottom half of the inning. James Skelton’s single brought in two runs while Murton and Zazueta each added a second RBI to their nightly total. The bottom three batters in the Blue Crabs lineup combined for six runs batted in.
