Irvine, CA — Taco Bell is revamping its menu and some customers are not happy about it. “This world is fiery pit of awful right now, we need this. Please #savethedoubledeckertaco!” wrote distressed Twitter @zelduh1 in response to the fast-food chain’s announcement that it was dropping the double-decker taco and several other popular items from the menu starting September 12.
Gone from the menu are:
- Beefy Mini Quesadilla
- Chips & Salsa
- Chipotle Chicken Loaded Griller
- Double Decker® Taco
- Cool Ranch & Fiery Doritos® Locos Tacos
- Double Tostada
- Power Menu Burrito
- XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito
If that wasn’t alarming enough to those who don’t like change, the company is also rearranging the combo numbers.
JsinCM21 pleaded with the company, “Please leave the XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito alone.”
Derek O’Neal suggested fellow fans of the double-decker taco “Write your congressman! Start a petition! Open a GoFundMe.”
While the folks at Taco Bell say they feel your pain, the company said on its website that it hopes decluttering the menu will make it easier to order.
“Look, we get it. We all have our go-to order and change can be hard. But sometimes it’s good to get outside of your comfort zone and spice things up a bit. So the next time you go to Taco Bell®, we hope it’s easier for you to find something new. If not, just close your eyes and say, “give me whatever a Combo #5 is now.”
