CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. — The town of Chesapeake Beach is bringing back a popular end-of-summer event, Taste the Beaches, this Saturday, Sept. 13, at Kellam’s Field at 3825 Gordon Stinnett Ave. The event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Enjoy free tastings, food trucks, fresh-shucked oysters, local vendors, sweet treats, games and activities, and entertainers. This year, attendees will also get to hear live music by the Ryan Forrester Band.

This event is free to the public, and the town bills it as a family-friendly celebration of the twin beaches and the community they share.

Parking is also free at the event, and there should be plenty of it. Attendees can park at the Kellam’s Field complex and are encouraged to walk or carpool if possible.

Chesapeake Beach and its neighbor, North Beach, are known for the festival- and street fair-themed events they host throughout the year, particularly in the summer. North Beach’s First Friday event draws a crowd from all over the county and is popular with residents of the beaches. That event also brings in local vendors, offers live music and invites residents to explore local businesses.

Kellam’s Field also hosts numerous events throughout the year in conjunction with the town of Chesapeake Beach and Calvert County Parks and Recreation (CCPR). Recent events at Kellam’s Field this summer included the Summer Night Festival, the Coffee-Car Show, fireworks displays and a kids’ dance party. Kellam’s has more events scheduled through the end of this year to celebrate fall and the winter holiday season.

The beaches are well-practiced in putting on great, community-focused events and are excited to bring Taste the Beaches back this year for what looks to be another successful and fun-filled event.

Interested vendors can view the vendor form here, and potential community partners can fill out the application here.
