Old Mill High School

MILLERSVILLE, Md. — A 16-year-old boy was arrested Monday in connection with an assault at Old Mill North Middle School in which he allegedly pointed a replica BB gun at multiple victims.

The incident occurred on Feb. 7 at around 8:19 p.m. while a School Resource Officer was working a basketball game at nearby Old Mill High School. The officer was informed of the assault, in which the suspect reportedly confronted and attacked the victims before displaying what appeared to be a firearm.

AACPD Eastern District detectives launched an investigation with assistance from the School Resource Officer. After gathering evidence and conducting interviews, investigators identified the suspect and determined that he had used a replica BB gun.

Detectives later recovered the BB gun from the suspect’s residence. He was taken into custody without incident Monday at Chesapeake High School, where he is a student.

The teen, who was not identified because of his age, faces multiple charges, including first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and weapons offenses.
