On March 17, St. Mary’s Cpl Patrick Handy responded to Greenview Knolls Elementary School in Great Mills for a report of subjects on the roof.
Upon arrival, Cpl Handy observed subjects running from the rear of the school. One of the subjects was apprehended and identified as Nicholas Michael Gonzalez, 18 of California, Maryland. A check of the school revealed entry to the structure was not made but Cpl Handy determined through investigation the subjects attempted to enter.
Gonzalez was charged with fourth-degree burglary and released to the custody of the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
Accomplices have been identified and additional arrests are pending.
