On May 15, Trooper Chirichella responded to a residence on Broomes Island Road, in Port Republic, for an animal cruelty complaint.
Investigation led to the arrest of Jason Daniel Dwyer, 18, of Port Republic, for shooting and killing the victim’s cat.
Mr. Dwyer was charged with destruction of property (-$500) and animal cruelty. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
