LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Summer may still be months away, but St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks is already gearing up for eight weeks of field trips, sports drills, splash-filled afternoons and nonstop adventure.

The Scoop,” the county’s official 2026 summer camp guide, is now available online, outlining dozens of programs for children and teens across Southern Maryland. Families can view the full guide here: www.stmaryscountymd.gov/Scoop

Registration opens Monday, March 2 at 9:00 a.m., and officials encourage families to be ready when the clock strikes nine — camps traditionally fill quickly.

What Parents Need to Know

Most camps begin the week of June 22, 2026, and run through mid-August depending on location and program.

Recreation & Parks officials recommend families log in early to ensure their online accounts are ready before registration opens.
