SOUTHERN MARYLAND — Warmer weather is rolling in, and there is no shortage of things to do across the region this week. From spring markets, outdoor adventures and community festivals to live entertainment, Southern Maryland is giving everyone plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy it, with many events free to attend.
Highlights this week include Rebels and Redcoats bringing Revolutionary War excitement in St. Mary’s County, Open House at Camp St. Charles opening its grounds for families to explore summer possibilities, and spring markets popping up with local vendors, food and seasonal shopping.

Patuxent High School presents “Les Misérables“ on April 11–12 (7 p.m. on April 11; 2 p.m. on April 12), at Patuxent High School, Lusby, MD – The Patuxent Harlequins bring the classic musical to the stage in a student production following Jean Valjean’s journey through injustice, redemption and revolution in 19th-century France. Outdoor Clay Dates: Fairy Houses & Magical Abodes on April 12 (1–3 p.m.), at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, 13470 Dowell Road, Solomons, MD – Create a magical clay masterpiece outdoors using slab, coil and texture techniques, with options to make a fairy house, gnome home, toad abode or other whimsical garden dwelling.
