CALVERT COUNTY

The North Beach Farmers’ Market taking place every Saturday through October 26 (8 am to 11:30 am), located at Senior Center Parking Lot, 9010 Chesapeake Avenue, North Beach, MD – We are pleased to continue our traditional, small-town atmosphere farmers’ market for the 2024 season! The market will include local vendors with items such as plants, farm vegetables, baked goods, meats, cheeses, eggs and other fresh goods. The Town of North Beach encourages all guests to HELP REDUCE WASTE by bringing your own bag and using the appropriate disposal containers provided at the market.

Outdoor ArtLAB: CD Garden Mosaics on May 25 (11 am), located at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, 13470 Dowell Road, Solomons, MD – Join us outside for a lightly guided upcycled art project! We’ll guide 12 family groups through a whimsical upcycled step-by-step project. A great way to customize your family visit to Annmarie. Pack a picnic, search for fairy houses, and stay and play afterward. This Week’s Project: CD Mosaics Family groups can choose to work on one project together or purchase additional project kits so everyone works on their own. An adult must participate with children. CHARLES COUNTY

The Shops At Waldorf Center Farmers Market taking place every Saturday through mid-November (weather permitting) (10 am to 2 pm), located at Shops at Waldorf Center, 3003 Festival Way, Waldorf, MD – Guests are encouraged to visit the Farmers Market, held in the parking lot near CAVA, to find fresh local fruits and vegetables, including strawberries, apples, oranges, asparagus, avocados and tomatoes. Additionally, there will also be local makers, soaps, honey, baked goods, and flowers. Visiting the Farmers Market is free and open to the public; no pre-registration is required. 30th Annual Juried Multi-Media Art Show on select dates happening now through May 26 (11 am to 4 pm), located at Mattawoman Creek Art Center, 5565 Upham Pl. in Smallwood State Park, Marbury, MD – Celebrate spring at Mattawoman Creek Art Center in beautiful Smallwood State Park. This waterside gallery is hosting its 30th annual juried art show where regional artists – displaying a variety of media, styles, and subject matter – will compete for awards. Park entry fees are waived for gallery visitors. Show runs 11-4 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from April 26 – May 26. Come then to meet many of the artists!

ST. MARY’S COUNTY

Life’s Good in LG 5K and 10K on May 25 (8 am), located at Leonard’s Grant Leonardtown, MD – Include a 5K in your Memorial Day Weekend plans! Over the last 11 years we have donated over $33,000.00 to the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department. Our event has enabled the LVFD to purchase new equipment used for fighting fires throughout our county. Although you can also register at Walk-in Registration (for $40) the day before the race, you will not be guaranteed your preferred shirt size at that time. If you aren’t satisfied with the sizes that are available at Walk-in, you are eligible for our free post-race shirt order which is placed each year; your shirt will arrive about two weeks after Race Day. THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION but you will be able to pick up your packet on race day if you have already registered online.

RenFest Southern MD on May 25 (10 am to 8 pm), located at Brüdergarten, 22725 Duke St, Leonardtown, MD – Medieval, Viking, and Renaissance life festival at Leonardtown’s own Brudergarten Beer Garden. Enjoy entertainment, food and drink, artisan vendors, demonstrations, kids activities and so much more! 

Muddy Princess Maryland on May 26, located at Wicomico Motor Sports, 11198 Kingston Pl, Charlotte Hall, MD – Muddy Princess is an outdoor 5km (3.1 mile) obstacle mud run for women. Our event is for Princesses of all sizes, ages, and fitness levels. We don’t focus on fastest times or competitions, we focus on fun so be prepared to run, walk, crawl, climb, slide, balance, and laugh your way along our course for an amazing “girls dirty day out!” The event area opens at 8:00am but the first wave will go off at 9:00am and continue every 20 minutes (9:20, 9:40 etc) up until the last wave in the afternoon. Registration required!
