Waldorf: Seniors Juwuan Briscoe and Trey Lee had both run for a thousand yards this regular season, and did not disappoint the home crowd in their opening round playoff game tonight versus Huntingtown.


Briscoe turned in a three touchdown performance, rushing for over 120 yards on 9 carries. The scoring started with Briscoe taking a handoff and streaking up the right sideline for aย  42 yard touchdown. Huntingtown blocked the extra point, and Stone had the early lead.


JuWuan BriscoeOn their next possession, Briscoe took off on another touchdown run. This one for 36 yards, and Stone converted the 2 point conversion to take a 14-0 lead.

Huntingtown were unable to gather any momentum offensively against the stout Cougar defense, turning the ball over on downs three times in the game.ย  Stoneโ€™s offense did as it always does, controlling the clock and churning out yards on the ground with a constant three back attack that bowled the Hurricanes over.

Trey Lee turned in his touchdown on the first possession in the second half. A twisting ten yard run propelled him into the end zone, breaking the plane at the pylon.ย  Stone failed the two point conversion, and led 20-0.

The Hurricanes fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and Stone recovered to set up the offense deep in Hurricane territory. On tThe next play Briscoe took off on a 23 yard scamper to the end zone. The extra point was good, and Stone was firmly in control midway through the third quarter, leading 27-0.

Huntingtown took the next possession and drove until they reached the Stone 20.There the Cougar defense stiffened and held and forced another turnover on downs. Stonetook over and methodically drove back down the field where senior halfback Chad Walker scored on a 20 yard touchdown run to ice the game at 33-0.
