CalvART Gallery in Prince Frederick will present new works by three unique area artists Ann Crain, Mary Beth Harry and Kennedi Milan, in a month-long show called “Three Hot Chicks!” The public is invited to the artists’ reception on Saturday, August 16, and the show will run from August 6 to September 7.

Ann Crain is a painter who draws her inspiration from the personal connection she feels to the peaceful waters of the Bay, its rugged cliffs and gentle breezes.ย  Her work reflects the local landscape as well as distant places she has travelled.ย  She continually refines her creative senses by merging color, line and figures.ย  Mary Beth Harry, also a painter, has an intense love of the tropics which is reflected in her work.ย  Whether the image brings to life a fresh array of fantasy like flowers or a surreal reflection in calm waters, her colors are both vibrant and luminous.ย  Kennedi Milan is a unique new jewelry designer who has hit the area by storm in her first four years on the art scene.ย  She brings a fresh new sense of style and balance to jewelry which ranges from bead work to silver and gold metalwork. ย

The CalvART Gallery was founded in June 2005 and is a program of the Arts Council of Calvert County, a non-profit organization.ย  CalvART is a cooperative gallery of 23 artists working in many formats, with an emphasis on fine art and crafts.ย ย  The gallery has had a strong commitment to community arts since its creation, has hosted community arts shows and is now expanding to college artists. ย

CalvART Gallery is located in the Prince Frederick Center at intersection of state Route 4 and state Route 231.ย
