At 7:13 p.m., April 15, Mechanicsville volunteer firefighters and rescue squads responded to the area of 39400 Mount Wolf Road in Charlotte Hall for a reported ATV accident with one unconscious, reports Mechanicsville VFD Assistant Chief John Raley.
First arriving EMS personnel requested a helicopter transport for a child who had suffered severe head trauma and was still unconscious.
They also advised they had three patients and requested additional units for transport.
Mechanicsville and Hughesville units established a landing site for Trooper 7 helicopter and Brush unit 2 responded in case the victims weren’t easily accessible from the hard surface.
Once on the scene, Brush 2 advised the victims were located on the extended dirt portion of Mount Wolf Road and that the Squad wouldn’t be needed on the scene of the accident.
With that information, the Squad established a landing site for Trooper 7 at Mount Wolf Road and Crooked Creek Lane.
Trooper 7 took their patient to Children’s Hospital. Ambulances transported two other victims to St. Mary’s Hospital.
