CALIFORNIA, Md. – A multi-vehicle collision at a busy intersection in California, Maryland, sent two people to the hospital and disrupted evening traffic on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., fire and rescue crews responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of Three Notch Road and First Colony Boulevard. Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered three vehicles off the roadway following a rear-end collision.

EMS evaluated the occupants, with two individuals transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment. Three other occupants involved in the crash declined further medical care and signed refusal forms on the scene.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Motorists were advised to use caution and expect delays in the area as crews worked to clear the scene.

  1. Wow. Maybe the state should lower the speed limit in that area. 35 mph should work, I mean, they lowered the north end to 45mph “for traffic calming”.

  2. Need more traffic enforcement. Maybe SMCSO & MSP should hire 20 more patrol officers that only enforce the speed limit.
