SOLOMONS, MD — Country music fans from far and wide gathered at the Toby Keith concert Friday evening, parking their vehicles up and down the highway.
Taking a pit stop at the Calvert Marine Museum (CMM)’s Waterside Concert Series at the PNC Waterside Pavilion in Solomons, Keith is in the early months of his 2016 Interstates and Tailgates Tour presented by the Ford F series.
The American patriot and legendary performer wooed the masses with sweet melodies and raucous bar tunes while sipping from a red Solo Cup.
He asked the crowd if they were drinking beers, and hoped he wasn’t the only one drinking that evening.
Fans in cowboy hats and boots held their beers high and their smartphones higher for Keith’s tunes such as “Beer For My Horses,” “Courtesy of the Red, White And Blue,” “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” “How Do You Like Me Now?!,” and “American Soldier.”
The Davisson Brothers opened the country music show as the sun set, with the lead singer jumping around the stage pretending to be a rooster during their set. He inspired the anxious fans to get loose with hoe-down inspired music.
The 2015 inductee into the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s accolades include over 40 million albums sold. With multiple Entertainer of the Year awards, he has produced multi-platinum tunes that top charts for weeks on end. He’s produced 61 singles that made it to the Billboard Hot Country charts, including 20 number one hits and 21 additional top 10 hits.
