Shortly before 7 p.m. Monday, a fire broke out in an unoccupied trailer at Coster and McCready roads in Lusby, drawing volunteer firefighters from Calvert and St. Mary’s counties.
Within minutes the mobile home was gutted by fire, and firefighters drenched the demolished trailer.
Some neighbors rejoiced at seeing the familiar trailer go up in flames. The “unoccupied” trailer was known to be a “crack house”, according to a neighbor on the scene.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating. The cause is yet unknown. The fire was discovered by a passer-by.
The dollar amount of damage was estimated at $2,000 by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
