LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Basketballs will be bouncing and sneakers squeaking across St. Mary’s County this summer as local high school coaches take the lead in teaching young athletes the fundamentals of the game.
The Basketball Sport Academy Camps kick off June 23 at Leonardtown High School, where co-ed players entering grades 3 through 9 will train from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through June 26. Additional sessions designed specifically for girls follow in July — one in the evening at Leonardtown High School from July 14–17, and a morning camp at Great Mills High School from July 21–24.
Organized by St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks, the camps are part of a wider series of Sport Academy programs aimed at developing athletic skills in a fun, structured environment. Early registration is encouraged, as spots tend to fill quickly.
Registration is available at https://tinyurl.com/2tdatctf, and the full lineup of summer offerings can be found at www.stmaryscountymd.gov/Scoop2025.
