The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that caused considerable damage to a trash truck. The 1990 Volvo was parked at Refuse Rescues Trash Removal Company at the intersection of Old Washington Road and Railroad Place in Waldorf.
Employees discovered the fire upon arrival at work early Thursday morning. The fire originated in the cab interior and caused $12,000 damage, according to a release from the Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call and five volunteers quickly extinguished the blaze.
