Head-on crash in Maryland

POMFRET, Md. — Two men were taken to area hospitals Thursday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash on Marshalls Corner Road in Charles County.

Emergency crews were called to the 7700 block of Marshalls Corner Road shortly before 2 p.m. on Sept. 3, 2026, for a reported two-vehicle collision with injuries.

Initial reports indicated one driver complained of back and neck pain. A second patient, identified as a 55-year-old man, suffered injuries to his left arm, head and shoulder, with bleeding reported from his head. Emergency communications indicated one of the vehicles had pulled out in front of the other before the collision.

The 55-year-old man was transported to University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center.

A second patient, identified as a 40-year-old man, was transported to University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center under Priority 2 status.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Motorists traveling through the area should use caution while emergency crews clear the scene.
