WALDORF, Md. — A 79-year-old man was taken to the hospital Thursday morning, Sept. 3, after reportedly being attacked by a dog in Waldorf.
Emergency crews were called to the Briarwood Drive area around 9:18 a.m. for a reported animal bite.
Initial reports indicated the man had been attacked by a large dog and suffered injuries to his face and both legs. A neighbor reportedly came to the scene and attempted to notify the animal’s owners following the attack.
Emergency medical personnel and animal control were requested to respond. By the time crews arrived, the dog was no longer visible in the area.
The man was evaluated by EMS and transported by ambulance to Charles Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the attack, including whether the dog has been located or identified, were not immediately available.
