At 2:30 a.m. Feb. 8, a 2002 Ford Mustang, being driven by Theresa M. Valentine, 46 of Chesapeake Beach, was traveling westbound on Old Bayside Road in Chesapeake Beach when the vehicle left the roadway near E Street and struck two trees before coming to a final rest.
Police and rescue volunteers arrived on scene to find the driver trapped in the car and the passenger, James Colton, 35 of Rosehaven, was ejected from the vehicle.
To get to the driver, North Beach Volunteer Firefighters removed the roof and door of the vehicle, and “rolled the dash” with assistance from Dunkirk Volunteers.
Firefighters and police were on the scene for three hours. The crash remains under investigation by the Calvert County Crash Reconstruction Team.
