Owings, MD – On Tuesday, Jan. 6 at approximately 6 a.m., an accident occurred on Mt. Harmony Road in Owings.
Police in Calvert County reported two vehicles were involved. One vehicle was in the middle of the roadway and the other was off the road and had traveled over a small embankment past the guardrail.
The driver of that vehicle was uninjured and signed refusal for transport. the occupants of he other vehicle involved were an adult and small child. Both were transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital.
The roadway was temporarily closed.
The cause of accident has not been confirmed, but winter weather made travel hazardous in north Calvert.
According to fire and rescue officials in Calvert County, there were two other accident calls all within the 30 minutes in the county’s north end. Units from Huntingtown, Dunkirk and North Beach were dispatched to some of the calls.
