Update:
Since January 4, 2013, detectives with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations have continued the investigation into the alleged shooting in the West Westbury Neighborhood in Great Mills, Maryland.ย
During the follow-up investigation it was determined the victim accidentally shot himself while holding a firearm and made a false statement to police regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting as a ploy to cover-up the accidental discharge of the weapon.ย
Charges are pending against the juvenile pending a review with the Stateโs Attorneyโs Office and the Department of Juvenile Services. ย

On January 4, 2013 at approximately 7:30 P.M., three teenagers were walking in the West Westbury Neighborhood of Great Mills, Maryland when a small passenger vehicle drove up and fired shots at the teenagers.ย
One of the teenagers, a fifteen year-old, from Great Mills was shot and driven to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.ย The Bureau of Criminal Investigations is seeking the publicโs assistance in this investigation.ย ย ย
