UPDATE – Official Police Report 10:59 A.M.:

The Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred last night.ย  On July 28 at 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Truro Lane in Waldorf for the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers located Lesponado Geremias-Navarro Gutierrez, 30, of Waldorf, unconscious and suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he died a short time later. A preliminary investigation revealed Gutierrez and another man โ€“ a 33-year-old from Waldorf – were walking toward their residence when they were approached by two suspects. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded money and a cell phone. A struggle ensued between the victims and suspects during which the second suspect pulled a knife and stabbed Gutierrez. After the stabbing, the suspects fled on foot toward Mattawoman Beantown Road.

Sheriff Rex. W. Coffey has authorized a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspects. In addition, Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective B. Charles County Sheriff’s are investigating a homicide in Waldorf.

Police responded to the 900 block of Truro Lane near the Pinefield neighborhood around 10:30 p.m., after two men ages 30 and 33, were walking down the street and were approached by two suspects with a handgun. The suspects demanded money and the victim’sย cell phones. According to Charles County Police Spokeswoman Diane Richardson, a struggle ensued and one of the suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed a 30-year-old man in the upper torso.

The victim was transported to Southern Maryland Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The other victim was not injured.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released. No word on a lookout at this point in time.
