Sometime shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, there was a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Mattapany and Route 235 involving three St. Maryโs students.ย All three were transported to area hospitals with varying degrees of injury.ย ย
The students involved were Sean Goerling, who was flown to Prince Georgeโs Shock Trauma, Alexandra Jiron who was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma, and Gina White who was taken by ambulance to St. Maryโs Hospital.ย ย This week Acting Dean of Students at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Mark Heidrich, advised Sean Goerling is currently in critical condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore,ย Alexandra Jiron is in stable condition and recovering at Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, andย Gina Whiteย returned toย campus after treatment at St. Maryโs Hospital.
