At 1:13PM a call went out alerting dispatch of a two car accident on Pegg Road in Lexington Park. One lane in each direction is closed. Vehicles are still in roadway.

UPDATE:
At 1:15 P.M. on Tuesday, January 2, 2012, rescue crews were dispatched to the intersection of Pegg Road and Lexington Drive fro the personal injury accident with reports of 3 injuries. Crews arrived on scene to find two SUV’s involved in a collision with both vehicles still in the road way. Crews swiftly secured the vehicles and assessed the involved occupants for injuries. It was decided that none of the occupants wanted to be transported by EMS to the hospital for care. The last fire/EMS unit cleared the scene at 1:28 P.M. All lanes of traffic were closed during the duration of the incident.
