UPDATE: Three transported from accident involving wires in Calvert

Update from TheBayNet Staff:

On Monday, October 13  at approximately 8:45 am, there was a report of a single vehicle accident on Ponds Wood Road, just in from Route 4 in Huntingtown.

Once on the scene units found a vehicle that had broken an electrical pole in half and caused wires to go down.  The road was closed until 10:50 am.  At that time they opened one lane as they are still waiting on SMECO to complete their work at the scene.

There were three transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital by ambulance from Huntingtown, Dunkirk and Prince Frederick.

Advisory from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office at 8:55 a.m.:

Ponds Wood Rd just in from RT4 will be closed due to an accident.

There are wires across roadway.
