WALDORF, Md. — A crash late Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, sent an SUV flipping multiple times before slamming into a building along Crain Highway, prompting a large emergency response and a structural inspection.
The single-vehicle crash occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Crain Highway, where the SUV overturned and came to rest inside a dance studio. A third-party caller reported the vehicle flipped several times before striking the building.
Fire and rescue crews arrived to find the SUV embedded inside the structure. The driver was conscious, alert, and was out of the vehicle without reported injuries.
As a precaution, gas and electrical service to the building were secured, and a building inspector was requested to evaluate potential structural damage. Police later confirmed damage to the building.
The driver reportedly left in another vehicle a short time later. Authorities did not immediately say whether charges will be filed.
Emergency units remained on scene into the early morning hours of Tuesday while the building was inspected.
No other injuries were reported, and the crash remains under investigation.
