Vehicle destroyed by suspected arson in White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, Md. – Authorities are investigating a suspected arson that destroyed a vehicle, Friday night. 

On Friday, Aug. 3, 9:21 p.m., crews from the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 4700 block of Crain Highway, White plains for a vehicle fire discovered by a passerby. Six firefighters were able to control the fire within 10 minutes resulting in zero injuries. 

Investigation revealed The vehicle was driven to a secluded area of a lumber yard and intentionally set on fire from the interior. Investigators continue to identify the vehicle’s make, model and owner.
