HOLLYWOOD, Md. — Units from the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department recently responded to a vehicle fire near large power lines by one of the county’s old Wood Treatment Plants.

On Feb. 24 at approximately 6:05 p.m., units were dispatched to the 25200 block of Three Notch Road, where they discovered a work truck which was impeding the power line’s right-of-way. The fuel tank, which was identified to have been full, had allegedly ruptured as a result of the fire, which led responders to use foam to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, however there were no injuries to report on the incident. The fire was able to be contained in a brief period and returned to service shortly after.

We will provide additional details and updates when we receive them.
